Brian Shaughnessy’s practice is concentrated in the area of General Tort Litigation, Construction Litigation, Product Liability and Premises Liability/Retail in state and federal court. Brian has tried lawsuits involving wrongful death, serious personal injury and property damage.

A graduate of Illinois Institute of Technology/Chicago Kent College of Law (J.D. with honors, 1979) and Marquette University (B.S., 1974), Brian is a member of the Illinois bar and the Federal Trial Bar and has been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois.

Brian is a member of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel, Defense Research Institute and the DuPage County Bar Association. He authored a chapter in the 2009 edition of Illinois Civil Practice: Preparing for Trial published by the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education. He has also written articles for the Tort & Insurance Law Journal and the Products General Liability and Consumer Law Newsletter of TIPS.
